If Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri wasn’t already out of West Ham United’s price range before he almost certainly will be now.

West Ham have been linked with a host of strikers.

But Sevilla forward En-Nesyri was said to be David Moyes’s number one target (The Athletic).

West Ham’s opening bid of around £27m including add-ons was knocked back by the La Liga side last weekend.

West Ham had glimmer of hope after rejected En-Nesyri bids

But a new report has emerged from Spain this week claimed West Ham had upped their bid for En-Nesyri to £35m (La Razon as also reported by Sport Witness).

West Ham fans were given hope a deal could yet be done after a report from Football Espana claimed Sevilla are close to agreeing a move for Atalanta forward Papu Gomez.

To make the situation even more intriguing, En-Nesyri had reportedly made clear he is ‘seduced’ by the idea of a move to West Ham (Sport).

Moyes striker target adds millions to price tag with another hat-trick

His price tag was always going to be an issue for West Ham.

And that will probably have a few million added to it after En-Nesyri scored another hat-trick on Saturday afternoon.

The Moroccan striker scored in the 35th, 39th and 62nd minute as Sevilla coasted to a 3-0 win over Cadiz.

The West Ham target’s first goal saw him fire home a left-footed drive into the bottom left corner from the centre of the box.

And he added a brace of headers to complete his hat-trick.

Hammers may have to look elsewhere

It is a second hat-trick in less than two weeks for the man Moyes hoped he could bring to east London.

He scored a treble in a 3-2 win over Real Sociedad.

If West Ham did retain any hope of landing the fleet-footed striker, that may have been extinguished as he brought his total for the season to 16 from 27 games.

With eight days left of the window West Ham may now have to look elsewhere instead, if they weren’t already.
