West Ham are keen to sign Manchester City ace Yangel Herrera this summer according to a report from The Sun.

The slight problem is that Man City could allegedly demand as much as £20 million for the 23-year-old.
In truth, £20 million would actually be great value for the 21-capped Venezuela international.
Considering the minimal funds that David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium this summer, however, it may well be hard for the Scot to convince David Sullivan to part with that kind of fee for a defensive midfielder.

That being said, Herrera would be the perfect summer signing for West Ham.
The 23-year-old has spent the last couple of seasons on loan with Granada and he has really impressed, racking up 10 goals and five assists in 82 games (Transfermarkt).
West Ham paying £20m for Herrera would be a smart move
Herrera is an athletic and energetic midfield player. He has great quality in possession of the football as well.

The Man City ace’s playing style is quintessentially South American in that he is gritty and tenacious. He’s so much more than a tough competitor, however.
As mentioned earlier, £20 million could be an absolute steal for West Ham.
It must be said that central midfield is an area where Moyes should be looking to strengthen as well.

Whether the Hammers owners see it that way, however, remains to be seen.
