The Scot will be expected to sign three, four or maybe even five ready made players to come in to the London Stadium and make a big difference.
The West Ham manager has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he wants to sign talented young and hungry players with one eye on the future, however.

TEAMtalk claims that the Hammers are keen to sign the talented young Black Cats starlet.
West Ham could face competition from Leeds, Crystal Palace and Newcastle for his signature. It is mentioned that the East London outfit are leading the race for Hawkes, however.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been on fire for the Black Cats’ youth team this season with 14 goals and seven assists to his name in 22 games (Transfermarkt).

Hawkes is a hard working, attack-minded player and he possesses impressive technical ability.
He also has a very good end product, as his numbers from this season prove.
It remains to be seen how much resistance Sunderland will put up if West Ham do make a concrete move to sign the 22-year-old.
