Declan Rice interacted with Patrick van Aanholt on Instagram last night. We think this is fairly interesting because West Ham may well be looking to sign a back-up left-back for Aaron Cresswell this summer.

The 30-year-old is all set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season (The Athletic).
And the Holland international will be available on a free transfer.
Now, we think that David Moyes needs to bring a top class left-back to the London Stadium.
An upgrade on Cresswell is needed for the long-term with the Liverpool-born ace set to turn 32 next year.
The problem for Moyes is that he needs to strengthen in so many areas with European football on the horizon. And funds are tight at the London Stadium.

So perhaps the Scot will needs to use the money he has at his disposal on signing a striker (or two) and a central midfielder.
West Ham still need a left back of course. So signing van Aanholt on a free may well not be the worst idea in the world.
Declan Rice exchanges messages with Patrick van Aanholt
The 22-year-old Hammers ace posted the below image on Instagram last night:

Van Aanholt responded:

And Rice fired straight back at the soon-to-be free agent:

Now, the two players are clearly talking about a potential battle at Euros this summer between England and The Netherlands.
With West Ham in need of signing a left-back, however, it would be no surprise to see Moyes swoop in for the 30-year-old in the summer.
Especially considering the fact that he will be available on a free.
We could make a lot worse signings, that’s for sure!
