The all-action Cologne midfielder would be the absolutely perfect signing for Hammers boss David Moyes this summer.
Central midfield is certainly an area where West Ham need to strengthen.
More quality competition and cover is required for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

Ellyes Skhiri would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.
The 26-year-old covered more distance and made more tackles than any other player in Germany’s top flight last season according to the Bundesliga’s official website.
The 35-capped Tunisia international is a defensive midfielder by trade. He is incredibly versatile as well and can operate at centre-back and right-back.
In 32 Bundesliga games last season, Skhiri racked up five goals and three assists (Transfermarkt).
At 26, he is at the ideal age to make the move to the Premier League from the Bundesliga. He has all of the attributes needed to succeed in England.
