West Ham could make a move to sign Valencia centre-back Mouctar Diakhaby before transfer deadline day according to a report from 90 Min.

Hammers boss David Moyes is clearly desperately keen to bring a new centre-half to the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut in 10 days time.

West Ham’s move to sign Nikola Milenkovic is now dead in the water whilst talks for Kurt Zouma either seem to have gone quiet or nobody ‘in the know’ is actually aware of what is going on.

It seems as though the Hammers have alternative targets lined up in case we are unable to sign the Chelsea defender.

West Ham eyeing Diakhaby swoop?

90 Min claims that the Hammers having a long-standing admiration of the 24-year-old defender.

We think the Valencia ace would be a fine addition to Moyes’s ranks.

The 6ft 4in giant is an absolute monster in the air. He possesses blistering pace as well and would be a really good option for West Ham.

In 33 La Liga appearances for Valencia last season, Diakhaby averaged 0.6 tackles, one interception and 3.8 clearances per game. He also won 1.8 aerial duels per match on average (Who Scored).

The Frenchman is very good with the ball at his feet. He made 38 passes on average per game last season and record a completion rate of 85% (Who Scored).

Superdeporte recently claimed that Valencia want around £18 million for the centre-back.

That would represent great value for West Ham.

We would be more than happy if Diakhaby rocked up at the London Stadium this summer.
