West Ham are ready to sign Brazil international Guilherme Arana as their Aaron Cresswell replacement in January claims a new report.
If you ask any West Ham fan which areas of the team need strengthening ahead of the January transfer window most would the same answer – full-backs.
While signing a striker must also be a top priority in the coming windows, West Ham do need younger, modern, pacy full-backs soon.
Vladimir Coufal and Emerson Palmieri have been two of West Ham’s standout players so far this season.
But beyond them there is a huge drop-off in quality.

Cresswell days look numbered at West Ham
Aaron Cresswell desperately tried to force a move to Wolves in the summer, somewhat sullying his reputation with some West Ham fans.
He has spent much of the season injured since. And now it looks as though his days are well and truly numbered.
Because West Ham are ready to sign Brazil international Guilherme Arana as their Cresswell replacement in January claims a new report.
According to 90min, West Ham have approached Atletico Mineiro about signing Arana in the forthcoming window.

West Ham ready to sign Brazil international Guilherme Arana as Aaron Cresswell replacement in January claims report
The former Sevilla and Atalanta left-back played for Brazil in their draw with Venezuela a couple of days ago.
And the report claims West Ham had someone watching Arana ahead of bid for the 26-year-old.
Arana has just over 12 months of his contract to run and 90min claims the club will not stand in his way of a move to the Hammers.
It would give West Ham an all-Brazilian born left-back unit. Other Premier League clubs are reportedly interested but the Hammers are said to be favourites.

Club ‘unlikely to stand in his way’
“West Ham’s interest is the most advanced having already monitored Arana, who has just over 12 months to run on his contract, for much of this year already,” the report states.
“The Hammers will make a move for a left-back in January and Atletico Mineiro are unlikely to stand in Arana’s way if the east Londoners come calling.”
Cresswell has been a great servant for West Ham. And at £3.5m he represents one of the best pieces of business they’ve done in modern times.
But if West Ham are serious about challenging for the European spots in the Premier League and in Europe then they must have two quality players for every position.
Signing Arana would certainly give them that at left-back.
