West Ham United reportedly want to sign Spezia Calcio’s Emil Holm this summer.
According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Emil Holm is firmly on the radar of West Ham in the summer transfer window, but the problem for us is that Brighton want him as well.

Hammers manager David Moyes will be very keen to bolster his right-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer, with an upgrade on Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson required.

The addition of a younger right-sided defender with real quality and pace would be a big bonus ahead of the new season.
It seems as though Moyes is eyeing up a move for somewhat of an unheralded name though…
West Ham ready to pay £12.8 million to sign new right-back Emil Holm
TuttoMercatoWeb reckon that the Hammers and Brighton could be set for a battle to sign the Sweden international this summer.
Spezia allegedly want around €15 million (£12.8 million) for the 23-year-old defender.
In 20 Serie A games for Spezia last season, Holm bagged one goal and one assist. During those appearances, the Swede averaged 1.3 tackles and 1.7 clearances per match (Who Scored).
The 23-year-old possesses impressive pace and is a really tenacious tackler.

Emil Holm is best when operating as a wing-back rather than a traditional right-back, so that will give Moyes a great option if he plans to set up with three central defenders and two wing-backs this season.
I have to say though, just under £13 million seems to be a tad expensive for someone who is completely unproven in the Premier League.
Having said that, I’m sure that Moyes and his staff have done their due diligence on Holm.
Who knows, if we do end up signing him he could turn out to be a really good addition for the club. And let’s face it, if Brighton are after him, there must be something special about him!
