West Ham probably won't sign Wout Weghorst according to ExWHUemployee

West Ham probably won’t be signing Wout Weghorst this summer according to club insider ExWHUemployee.

Calcio Mercato recently claimed that David Moyes wants to bring the 28-year-old Wolfsburg hitman to the London Stadium this summer.

The Scot will be desperate to strengthen his centre-forward ranks this summer.

And the 6ft 6in Weghorst would surely be a decent option for West Ham.

He would certainly provide us with even more of a threat from set-pieces! The 28-year-old is a very decent finisher as well.

Weghorst scored 25 goals in 41 games for Wolfsburg this season (Transfermarkt).

West Ham to miss out on Wout Weghorst?

ExWHUemployee suggested that it is doubtful that Hammers boss David Moyes will make a move to sign the towering Dutchman this summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Monday, May 31st):

“We’ve been linked with Wout Weghorst. I’ve linked him to us before and I know we’ve had interest in him. I can’t see us signing him, although I know we have watched him in the past.”

Plenty more fish in the sea for the Hammers

That is a really frustrating update.

The 28-year-old Holland international would be a very smart signing for West Ham.

As long as we sign someone like Tammy Abraham, Adam Hlozek or Adam Armstrong, missing out on Weghorst won’t be the end of the world.

We would have loved to see him at the London Stadium though!
