West Ham prioritising Terem Moffi move after another Youssef En-Nesyri rejection

West Ham United are now prioritising a move to sign Lorient striker Terem Moffi, having finally moved on from Youssef En-Nesyri.

That’s according to a report from The Sun who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is really keen to bolster his centre-forward ranks before the January transfer window slams shut.

Gianluca Scamacca is still yet to establish himself properly at the London Stadium, whilst Michail Antonio has regressed badly over the past 12 months.

So the addition of another, younger centre-forward to provide competition for Scamacca should be an absolute priority for Moyes this month.

Terem Moffi is someone who has been on our radar for around a week now. In fact, it has been claimed that we’ve already held talks with Lorient about potentially signing the £22 million man.

And it seems as though the Nigerian hitman is now Moyes’s number one transfer target this month…

West Ham prioritising Terem Moffi move

The Sun reckon that the Hammers have entered discussions with Lorient about signing the 23-year-old forward.

It is suggested that the Ligue 1 side have already knocked back a bid for Moffi by Southampton worth around £18 million, and are instead holding out for closer to £25 million.

Described by Total Football Analysis as a ‘nuisance’ Moffi is exactly what we need at the London Stadium, and he would be the perfect foil for Gianluca Scamacca.

Moffi would take West Ham’s attacking play to a whole new level entirely.

He is absolutely rapid and is strong as an ox. He is generally a nuisance for opposing defenders and would offer a completely different option to Gianluca Scamacca through the middle, what with his power and pace.

He’s been on fire in Ligue 1 this season, with 11 goals in 17 games for Lorient to his name (Transfermarkt).

Score Nigeria reckon that he could be available for around €25 million this winter (£22 million).

That sounds like absolutely outstanding value to me. So what is Moyes waiting for?

If West Ham really are prioritising a move to sign Terem Moffi, there is no reason why this one shouldn’t be done within a few days.
