West Ham plan a major defensive overhaul as Tim Steidten plots move to sign Ligue 1 hot prospects Leny Yoro and Tiago Santos.
That’s according to new West Ham transfer claims emerging from France overnight.
Tim Steidten has proved a big hit at West Ham so far. Bayer Leverkusen are seeing the fruits of the German’s stellar work.
And it has not taken the Hammers long to see the benefits either with Steidten overseeing one of the best summer windows in the Premier League after he joined in July.
While David Moyes does have a say in West Ham transfers, the club’s recruitment is now very much being led by Steidten with a focus on young, talented stars.

West Ham plan major defensive overhaul?
As well as a striker, West Ham are sorely in need of new full-backs and a centre-back. Moyes fruitlessly chased Harry Maguire in the summer and loses Nayef Aguerd to AFCON for six games in the new year.
Captain Kurt Zouma has to have the number of games he plays carefully managed due to his history of knee injuries and veteran Angelo Ogbonna is likely in his last season.
Meanwhile Thilo Kehrer has been frozen out and is reportedly for sale.
Now West Ham plan a major defensive overhaul as Steidten plots move to sign Ligue 1 hot prospects Leny Yoro and Tiago Santos.
That’s according to an exclusive new report from TEAMtalk, which claims the Hammers want to sign centre-back Yoro and right-back Santos, who play together at Lille.

Steidten plots move for Ligue 1 hot prospects
Yoro, 18, has started 12 of Lille’s 14 matches in Ligue 1 this season and the 6ft 3in defender has also been playing in the Europa Conference League.
Modern full-back Santos is 21 and has also impressed during his 11 starts across the two competitions.
The reported West Ham targets are highly rated by their national team setups too. Santos has been capped by Portugal Under 21s while Yoro has made four appearances at the same level for France.
Steidten’s big problem is that a host of other Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United are also said to be interested.
Although the Hammers could likely offer both players more guaranteed game time than any of those.
Fighting off interest from other top sides has also not proved a problem for West Ham’s technical director previously.
