There are major positives for West Ham which should fill every fan with hope ahead of biggest week of the season so far.

There is no hiding the huge frustration around West Ham right now.

The football is as dull as dishwater for the most part and there have been no signs that will improve anytime soon.

Most West Ham fans feel David Moyes should be getting a much more exciting brand of football out of his talented first team stars.

But he’s not. And it feels like his future beyond this season directly correlates to whether he can change that between now and May.

That is a conversation for another day, though.

Bored to jeers but plenty to cheer

After the moans and groans from fans being bored to jeers, we must not lose sight of the plus points.

Because there are major positives for West Ham which should fill every fan with hope ahead of biggest week of the season so far.

Whenever West Ham play bitter rivals Spurs, it’s always a big week.

But the Hammers face three games in seven days which could shape the rest of the season and leave the club in a superb position.

Beat Tottenham in their own back yard and West Ham could be just three points off fifth spot – which is rewarded with a Champions League place this season.

That position could be consolidated with a positive result against Fulham – a very winnable game for the Hammers – on paper at least.

Then comes the big final Europa League group game at home against Frieburg next Thursday night.

A draw in that game will be enough to seal top spot and a place in the last 16 of European competition for a third consecutive season.

That would also earn the Hammers a three-month break from European matches.

Throw in the fact West Ham then have another winnable game against Wolves – at home – three days later and there is no reason why we can’t be sitting in the top six of the Premier League and last 16 of Europe in the next week or so.

And that’s all despite most being in agreement the Hammers have hit nothing like top gear or anything remotely resembling it as yet.

To be at this crossroads without having hit top form should also give encouragement.

Just imagine what we might achieve if we do.

That is a big ‘if’ though and we will get a better idea of how this season might shape up very soon indeed.

Over to you Moyes and the boys.

Come. On. You. Irons.
