West Ham have resumed talks to sign Chelsea ace Kurt Zouma in spite of the fact that they are closing in on a £14 million deal to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina according to a report from the Evening Standard.

Hammers boss David Moyes is clearly prioritising strengthening his central defensive department ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
The Scot should be looking to sign at least one striker and an attacking play-maker as well.
It seems as though he wants to get deal for Milenkovic and Zouma over the line first, however.

Sky Sports were first to report on the news that the Hammers were in talks to sign the Frenchman from Chelsea two weeks ago.
The Guardian then suggested that the 26-year-old rejected a move to the London Stadium, however.
The Evening Standard reckon that West Ham have now revived talks to sign the Chelsea star, however.
And what a signing Zouma would be for the East London outfit.
In 24 Premier League outings for Chelsea last season, Zouma averaged 0.7 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 3.8 clearances per game. He also won an average of 3.6 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).
Some have questioned the Frenchman’s passing ability but his stats last season dispel the myth that he isn’t great with the ball at his feet.
The 26-year-old made 74 passes on average per game last season and recorded a mightily impressive completion rate of 90.9% (Who Scored).
Hopefully we get this one done asap.

Milenkovic and Zouma would strengthen West Ham considerably.
