West Ham United are allegedly keen to sign exciting Udinese starlet Destiny Udogie in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from Football Italia who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 19-year-old to the London Stadium this summer.
And Udogie will cost around £17 million according to claims from Italian publication CalcioMercatoWeb.
Moyes desperately needs to bolster his left-back ranks in the summer transfer window with Aaron Cresswell having shown clear signs of regression over the past six months or so.
Bringing in a young left-sided defender who has pace, power and a good delivery will be essential for West Ham this summer.
And it seems as though that is exactly the kind of player who Moyes has in mind…
West Ham eyeing summer swoop for Destiny Udogie
Football Italia claim that the Hammers want to sign the 19-year-old Udinese left-back but Tottenham allegedly want him as well.
We think that the young Italian would be a truly exceptional addition for West Ham. He has everything that we need.
And the teenager would certainly be a very big upgrade on Aaron Cresswell.
He has ‘devastating crossing ability’ and is absolutely rapid according to Italian football website Cult of Calcio.
Udogie enjoyed a really successful campaign with Udinese last season, bagging five goals and three assists in 35 Serie A outings (Transfermarkt).
Not bad numbers for a left-back!
The Udinese starlet is powerful, energetic and possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier league.
The 19-year-old has the potential to go on and become one of the very best left-backs in world football.
He plays with impressive maturity and poise for someone so young as well.
And if West Ham sign Destiny Udogie for just £17 million this summer, we believe that would be a sensational deal for the East London outfit.
