West Ham now ready to sell Moyes’s 7th most recent signing for a loss in the January window

West Ham United are said to now be willing to listen to offers for one of our wingers in the January transfer window.

The upcoming January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham United manager David Moyes.

The Hammers boss really does need to sign a striker, a central midfielder and a versatile full-back who can play on either side, if we are to enjoy a successful 2023/24 campaign on all fronts.

I certainly don’t expect Moyes to make all three of those signings this winter, but I’ll be delighted with one or two new arrivals.

There could well be some outgoings at the London Stadium too. It seems as though we could be set to move at least one player on as well in January.

Maxwel Cornet joined West Ham from Burnley for £17.5 million in the summer of 2022, but he has really struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium so far.

And his stay in East London could very well be a short-lived one…

Maxwel Cornet set for January transfer window West Ham exit

talkSPORT claim that the Hammers are prepared to listen to offers for Cornet this winter, and cut their losses on the 27-year-old.

Cornet has barely been used by Moyes since the Ivorian joined West Ham, and he received the ultimate slap in the face when he was completely omitted from the squad for Thursday night’s clash with Tottenham, in spite of the fact that he wasn’t injured, nor was he ill.

His omission from the squad against Spurs was truly baffling, after he made a real impression for the Hammers nine days ago in the Europa League.

The 27-year-old came on as a second-half substitute against TSC Backa Topola, and provided the assist for Tomas Soucek’s goal – one that secured a vital three points for us.

However, he hasn’t been given a single minute of action since then. Utterly bizarre if you ask me!

Cornet is Moyes’s seventh most recent signing behind Mohammed Kudus, Konstantinos Mavropanos, James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez, Danny Ings and Lucas Paqueta.

However, it seems as though he could end up spending just one-and-a-half seasons at the London Stadium, with West Ham allegedly looking to get rid in the January transfer window.

I feel like Cornet leaving the club this winter will be the ideal outcome for all parties involved.
