Wolves are imminently set to sign long-term West Ham United target Diego Costa on a free transfer.
Hammers boss David Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to bring the ex-Chelsea striker to the London Stadium since last year, but it appears as though Wolves have won the race.

That’s according to David Ornstein who claims that the 33-year-old free agent is set for a medical at Wolves ahead of a proposed move to Molineux.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought Gianluca Scamacca to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
It could be argued that West Ham are still one striker short though, with so many games coming thick and fast this season.
Whether Costa would have been a wise addition on a one-year deal is debatable but either way, it’s a moot point now…
Diego Costa closing in on Wolves move
The 33-year-old centre-forward is on the verge of joining Wolves according to David Ornstein.
Costa has bagged 187 goals in 495 career games (Transfermarkt).
The Spain international was a huge success in the Premier League with Chelsea and won two Premier League titles during his time in West London.

He left the Blues to rejoin Atletico Madrid in 2017 before moving to Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in 2021.
However, Costa is now available on a free transfer having been released by Atletico Mineiro.
And he’s seemingly closing in on a move to Wolves.
Who knows? He may well end up being a massive success with Bruno Lage’s team.
Whether West Ham will regret not signing the 33-year-old remains to be seen. If he is a big hit at Molineux, David Moyes may well be kicking himself for not bringing the ex-Chelsea striker to the London Stadium on a free.
