West Ham have made a sensational official bid for the world’s most highly rated young attacker Jeremy Doku and there’s good news despite rejection.
Feeling emboldened by an unforgettable 3-1 win over Chelsea, West Ham firmed up their reported interest in the brilliant Jeremy Doku last night.
As we reported on Friday morning, West Ham will be pushing to try and sign Belgian sensation Doku.
West Ham fans are – understandably – very sceptical about talk of a move for Doku.
After all this is one of the world’s most highly rated – and quickest – attacking starlets.

With Manchester City said to be seriously interested in the ridiculously talented 21-year-old Rennes winger and a reported valuation of over £80m on his head, any Hammers hopes of signing him look seriously limited.
West Ham have already wasted much of the summer transfer window chasing some unrealistic targets, players who don’t want to join and trying to do deals with clubs not interested in selling.
So supporters will justifiably question why West Ham are wasting their time going after someone like Doku.
But the Hammers clearly feel they might have a chance of signing the 21-year-old from Rennes.
Because West Ham have made a sensational official bid for the world’s most highly rated young attacker Doku and there’s good news despite a rejection.

According to Foot Mercato West Ham made an official offer for Doku overnight which was rejected by Rennes.
But it has been made clear this is merely West Ham’s “opening offer”.
And it is reported that not only do “negotiations continue” with the Ligue 1 club from whom West Ham purchased Nayef Aguerd, but they will sell for £46m.
“The Hammers have still started to negotiate with Rennes,” Foot Mercato reports.

“In this sense, a first offer has been made by the London management. An offer refused by the Rennais who will not sell off their player (at the price offered).
“Rennes are waiting for a sum around 55 million euros (£46m) to release their player and will therefore wait for West Ham to line up with a suitable sum. Negotiations continue.
“The Hammers therefore want to step up a gear as negotiations for Mohamed Kudus continue and the club are still looking for a pivot striker.”
Sensational news for West Ham fans to wake up to this morning about a sensational player.
Fans will still be sceptical. But adding a dynamo like Doku to this gritty, determined West Ham side would spark real hope at the club.
Especially as an ungrade for Said Benrahma, whose end product continues to frustrate.
