West Ham are named in an exciting new link to a star known as ‘the beast’ but David Moyes needs to hurry because Chelsea are lurking.
West Ham and Chelsea are said to be going head-to-head to sign another player after allegedly competing for the signing of Elye Wahi.
David Moyes desperately needs to improve his full-back options at West Ham with young, pacy, modern players needed to compete with senior pros Emerson and Vladimir Coufal.
Right-back is one of very few problem areas in Chelsea’s massive and expensively assembled squad too because new captain Reece James keeps breaking down with injuries.

James is ruled out of the clash with West Ham on Sunday and for several weeks at least with his latest hamstring injury.
West Ham have Coufal as first choice right-back and Thilo Kehrer can play there too – albeit with mixed results. Ben Johnson has proved time and again he is not up to the required standard.
So the Hammers need someone who can be their right-back for years to come.
So it is no surprise that Moyes and Mauricio Pochettino are interested in a top young talent in that position.

Hammers and Blues would have no problem paying relegated side’s bargain fee
ESPN claim sources have told them West Ham and Chelsea want to sign 18-year-old Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda.
The Madrid-born Spain youth star had looked set for a move to Barcelona.
But they are focusing on other players and may not be able to do a deal due to financial restrictions.
ESPN state West Ham and Chelsea are the two Premier League clubs interested and state neither will have any problem paying Valladolid’s reported transfer fee of €8-10m (£6.8-8.5m) following their relegation from La Liga.

‘Sources have told ESPN…’
“Other clubs — including Chelsea — keeping tabs on Fresneda’s situation,” the report says.
“The Premier League team have been tracking Fresneda for some time…
“Arsenal enquired about the Spain under-19 international during the January transfer window, and sources told ESPN that West Ham have also considered a bid this summer…
“The player is determined to secure a move this summer. His preferred destination would be Barcelona, but he is aware that time is running out and will opt to move elsewhere if Barca fail to act.”
Fresneda is known as ‘los latidos’ – the beast – over in Spain due to his relentless power and energy in rampaging up and down the right-hand side.
His statistics and heat map from his La Liga debut last season tell the story of a player destined for bigger things.
Whether that is with West Ham or Chelsea before the summer transfer window deadline remains to be seen.
