West Ham undoubtedly regret signing Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton in the January 2025 transfer window and now appear to have rectified their mistake.
The Republic of Ireland international only played eight games in all competitions for the Hammers, but was not a first-team regular.
Evan Ferguson played just 151 minutes under Graham Potter, facing issues with his form and fitness.
He eventually returned to Brighton in the summer and has been loaned out this season to AS Roma, who hold an option to buy.

West Ham United ramp up recruitment procedures after Evan Ferguson bombshell
Claret & Hugh have reported that West Ham United signed Ferguson, knowing that he was injured.
He had featured only 20 minutes for Brighton before his move to the London Stadium.
Brighton even told the Hammers that he would not be able to play a full game for the first six weeks, but they still went ahead with the deal.

It was due to their desperation that the Irons ended up signing the 21-year-old despite being warned against it.
Thus, it will come as a relief to the fans that the club have taken giant leaps to ramp up their recruitment process.
West Ham have secured a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AI specialists Crayon in order to build football’s first end-to-end generative-AI scouting platform.
They will want to avoid signings like Evan Ferguson or even Niclas Fullkrug, who seems set to leave West Ham in January.

Maximilian Hahn’s future at West Ham United may be in jeopardy
West Ham hired Maximilian Hahn at the start of 2024 as their Chief Analyst and Head of Scouting, and his main role is to gauge which players are suited for the side.
It’s fair to say that since his arrival, the Hammers have not made too many quality signings, which reflects in their position on the table.
They currently sit in 18th in the Premier League and once again face a serious threat of relegation from the top flight.
This January window may be do-or-die for Hahn and if his signings do not have an impact, he could very well be shown the door in the coming months.
