West Ham United have reportedly just made a bid to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares.

According to A Bola, Arsenal owned left-back Nuno Tavares has been the subject of a firm bid from West Ham.

The report doesn’t outline how much the offer from the Hammers is, but it does state that the Gunners want €8 million (£7 million) for the 23-year-old.

West Ham boss David Moyes is clearly on the hunt for a new left-back this summer, with a long-term upgrade on Aaron Cresswell required.

And it seems as though the Scot has his eye set on someone in particular…

West Ham make bid for left-back Nuno Tavares, Arsenal want £7 million

A Bola reckon that the Hammers want to sign the 23-year-old defender from the Gunners this summer.

I think Tavares could be a decent signing for West Ham, although his form with Arsenal in the 2021/22 season really wasn’t very impressive at all.

However, the Portugal under-21 international has spent this season on loan with Marseille and has performed really well.

In 29 Ligue 1 outings, Tavares has bagged six goals and has averaged 1.8 tackles and 0.9 key passes per game (Who Scored).

The former Benfica man is absolutely rapid and is physically very strong. His final ball leaves a lot to be desired, but that can be improved with practice.

The Arsenal owned left-back’s decision making isn’t the best either, and his positioning is questionable at times. However, for just £7 million I think he’ll be more than worth the gamble.

I believe that if West Ham sign Nuno Tavares for £7 million from Arsenal, it will be a decent deal for the East London outfit.
