West Ham United legend Leroy Rosenior believes there is more to the Declan Rice situation than meets the eye.
While Rice was away helping England to the Euro 2020 final, West Ham fans had to contend with fresh speculation over his club future.
The Telegraph ran an exclusive earlier this month claiming Rice had turned down two offers of new contracts from West Ham.

And the Hammers midfielder reportedly asked the club to keep him informed of any bids.
There has been plenty of speculation on social media and in West Ham circles regarding the Rice situation.
But the mere fact Rice’s contract snubs are in the public domain means there is more to the situation than meets the eye.
That’s according to former Hammers striker Rosenior, writing in his column on Claret and Hugh.

“I hope and pray I’m wrong and that he turns out to be another Mark Noble but we need to prepare ourselves for what may well be the realities of the situation,” Rosenior told Claret and Hugh.
“When the Telegraph leaked stories that a couple of contract offers had been turned down it seemed pretty clear the newspaper had received some sort of steer.
“There may be more of the same on the way. I really hope I’m wrong but I have to be honest – I’m a bit fearful.”

We can’t even say ‘roll on August 31st’
But it has been deathly quiet since with supporters worried any sizeable bid could now lure their star man away.
And it seems Rosenior not only thinks the same, but believes someone is engineering the situation with an ulterior motive.
West Ham fans would say August 31st can’t come quick enough. But the club has thus far failed to make any signings so Moyes needs all the time he can get.
