Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on bringing in a new forward in January, and Fulham’s Adama Traore is on West Ham’s radar.

The former Wolves forward has seven months left on his contract at Craven Cottage and will be a free agent in the summer if the London side do not tie him down to a new deal.

Nuno wants a reunion with Traore at West Ham due to the relationship they shared during their time at Molineux.

Adama Traore can be signed for £5m by West Ham United

Niclas Fullkrug is expected to leave West Ham, leaving Callum Wilson as the only experienced out-and-out number nine at Nuno’s disposal.

Goals have come at a premium this season for the Hammers, and the fact that Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder, is their top goal scorer highlights broader problems in the final third.

Given the interest in Traore, it’s understood that he could cost as little as £5million, per The West Ham Way, and even that would represent a profit for Fulham as they had signed him on a free transfer.

He enjoyed the best stint of his career at Wolves, scoring 14 goals and providing 20 assists in 194 appearances.

A reunion would benefit all parties as Nuno has proven he can get the best out of the winger.

Does Traore make sense for West Ham?

As Adama Traore has seven months left on his deal, Fulham are in no position to demand a high transfer fee for the former Spain international.

Signing a Premier League-proven forward capable of leading the line or playing out wide for that fee undoubtedly represents a bargain.

While he’s not been in the best of form recently, he would move to the London Stadium starting with a clean slate and that would benefit him.

Fans would undoubtedly want tens of millions to be spent on a new striker, but huge sums of money are not expected to be available this winter, so they may have to make do with the former Barcelona winger.
