West Ham are laying the groundwork to sign former Ajax star Noa Lang in January claims a report and he’s clearly Said Benrahma’s replacement.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Benrahma is way down the pecking order at West Ham under David Moyes.

Benrahma has struggled to win Moyes’ favour ever since arriving West Ham in 2020.

The Scot has taken a hardline, taskmaster approach to managing Benrahma at West Ham.

That came to a head last season when Benrahma and Moyes had a heated row on the touchline when the Algerian was substituted against Newcastle.

Despite starting the season well and creating more chances than anyone else in the West Ham team this term (Fotmob), Benrahma has found himself on the bench.

On Saturday against Wolves Moyes elected to bring Pablo Fornals on instead of Benrahma when Maxwel Cornet was forced off through injury after 34 minutes.

And new transfer speculation suggests the 27-year-old playmaker will be replaced in the next window.

Calciomercato claim West Ham want to sign the Netherlands international, who plays for Club Brugge.

Lang, 23, has been likened to Neymar and has an impressive goal record of one in every three games from the wing in his career so far.

A skilful winger, there are many similarities between Lang and Benrahma.

Lang reportedly turned down a move to Leeds United in the summer and West Ham are now said to be vying to sign him in January with the likes of Milan also interested.

“Milan does not lose sight of Noa Lang, 23-year-old winger expiring in 2025 with Brugge: on him there are also West Ham and Atletico Madrid,” claims Calciomercato.

Lang can also play in the number 10 role and has five caps for Holland. He was highly-rated in Holland and became the first Ajax player to score a hat-trick on his league debit for 60 years in a win over FC Twente.

But was sold to Brugge by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag last summer after a successful loan spell.
