West Ham are keeping a very close eye on the situation of Southampton striker Danny Ings according to ExWHUemployee.
Hammers boss David Moyes still hasn’t signed a striker.
Since Sebastien Haller left the London Stadium to link up with Ajax back in January, West Ham must have been linked with at least 30 or 40 strikers.
As things stand, however, we appear to be nowhere near close to actually signing anybody.
West Ham Danny Ings chase update provided by ExWHUemployee
The 28-year-old hitman is currently refusing to sign a new deal with the Saints.
And with his current contract due to expire next summer, he could well be on his way out of St Mary’s.
An Ex has suggested that the Hammers are closely monitoring Ings’ situation.
The former Liverpool and Burnley ace is a proven striker at the very highest level.
He has racked up 46 goals and 10 assists in 100 games for the Saints and scored 12 goals in 29 Premier League games last season (Transfermarkt).
Ings has really struggled with his fitness over the past few years, however. The 28-year-old has missed an incredible 665 days through injury since the start of the 2015/16 season (Transfermarkt).
Much will depend on how much we could pick Ings up for. It it’s £15 million or less it may well be worth the gamble for West Ham. Any more than that, however, and we shouldn’t be going anywhere near the Southampton hitman.
