West Ham have a strong interest in signing Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo this summer according to a report from Calciomercato.

Hammers boss David Moyes may well be keen to bolster his left-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

The Scot is in need of providing more quality competition and cover for Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.

The two West Ham stars still have a lot to offer. We just need more strength in depth in that particular department.

And we think Junior Firpo would be the absolutely ideal addition for West Ham.

The 24-year-old could cost anywhere from £13 million (Calcio Mercato) to £18 million (Sport) this summer.

West Ham have strong interest in Junior Firpo

Calciomercato claims that the Hammers and AC Milan are both interested in signing the 24-year-old.

West Ham are ‘particularly interested’ in Firpo’s services, however (Calciomercato).

We think that the ace would be a real upgrade on both Cresswell and Masuaku.

That’s not belittling Aaron. He was superb for us last year. But time waits for no man. And at 31, he is definitely past his best from a physical perspective.

If West Ham could sign Firpo for just £13 million, it seems like an absolute no-brainer.

It will all depend on whether we can beat AC Milan to the Spaniard’s signature.

The Italian giants will undoubtedly be a big problem for us, however, considering the fact that they can offer Firpo Champions League football next season.
