West Ham will not make a move to sign Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski in January according to a report from Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers were chasing the 28-year-old for around a month during the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph reported in September that West Ham made a £27 million bid for Tarkowski – one that the Clarets swiftly rejected.
And the Daily Star recently suggested that the Hammers haven’t given up hope of bringing the England international to the London Stadium.
David Moyes brought Craig Dawson to West Ham on loan last month. That was clearly just a short-term fix, however.
So it would be no surprise if the Hammers boss went back in for Tarkowski in January.
Claret and Hugh have tempered expectations, however, by suggesting that West Ham will not be making another attempt to sign the 28-year-old with Burnley holding out for £35 million for him.
Read between the lines
The high level insiders suggest that the Hammers are cash-strapped, what with the £25 million that they are obligated to pay for Said Benrahma next summer.
This makes no sense, however. Surely the Benrahma fee should have been set aside for last summer’s transfer budget. We as fans aren’t stupid. Many of us predicted that the lies would be spun once again regarding how much money the club has for transfers.
The global health crisis has undoubtedly affected every single team in the world. But once again it is us who seem to have been hit the hardest.
We are not necessarily saying that signing Tarkowski for £35 million would be a good deal. It is probably too much money to spend on a 28-year-old. It’s just frustrating that the fans have once again been treated as fools.
The West Ham fans are not conned easily, however. We may be doing well on the pitch. But the #GSBOUT movement should still be very much alive and kicking.
