Fabian Balbuena has decided to leave West Ham United in the summer according to Claret and Hugh.

The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Corinthians in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £6.5 million, according to Sky Sports.

Portuguese transfer expert Pedro Almeida recently suggested that Balbuena could return to Brazil at the end of the season.

Balbuena returned to somewhere near his best this season when he forced his way back into the side after Issa Diop was ruled out for two weeks with Covid.

The 29-year-old now finds himself well down the centre-back pecking order at West Ham once again, however, with Craig Dawson really impressing and Diop having returned to form.

The former Corinthians ace is out of contract with the Hammers in the summer.

West Ham defender Fabian Balbuena set to leave?

The 15-capped Paraguay international could be heading for an exit. Claret and Hugh claims that he has decided to leave the London Stadium this summer.

Balbuena earns around £40k-a-week (FLFC). And considering the fact that he will be 30 before the start of next season, moving him on rather than offering him a new deal is probably the right call.

Whilst he has been fairly impressive this season, we all know that he is an average defender at best.

His passing is shocking and we could and should be looking to upgrade on the Paraguayan this summer.

Balbuena has been a decent servant for the Hammers. Now is the time to part ways, however. That should be the outcome this summer.

It will be in the best interests of both West Ham and Balbuena.
