West Ham insider drops bombshell claiming David Moyes is prepared to sell 27-year-old

West Ham United manager David Moyes is allegedly prepared to sell Tomas Soucek in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to high-level club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that Moyes will let the 27-year-old Hammers midfielder leave the London Stadium, should a suitable offer come in.

It is alleged that various interested clubs are aware of Soucek’s situation at West Ham and have been for quite some time now.

C&H suggest that Moyes recommended to the club owners that the Czech Republic international shouldn’t be given improved terms on his current contract.

The Scot apparently thinks Soucek is a shadow of the player he was last season and there is allegedly interest from Europe in acquiring his signature.

West Ham boss David Moyes ready to sell Soucek

Claret and Hugh say that the Hammers boss is ready to move the 27-year-old on from the London Stadium before the start of next season.

West Ham valued Soucek at around £40 million last season but will likely not get that much for him now (Claret and Hugh).

If Moyes really does think that Soucek has regressed, perhaps he should look at his own role in the Czech ace’s decline.

The 27-year-old has completely changed roles this season and has been asked to play as the holding central midfielder, allowing Declan Rice to bomb forward.

It’s just not in Soucek’s nature to do that and his poor technical ability and range of passing has made his new role even more challenging for him.

Soucek is at his best when playing further forward, arriving in the box and getting on the end of crosses. He quite simply hasn’t been given the freedom to do that this season, so it’s no surprise to us that he has struggled.

Moyes has also played the 6ft 4in midfielder every single week. He has been crying out for a rest since the turn of the year.

At the same time, however, Soucek hasn’t been great, so it’s a bit of both in all fairness.

If West Ham do receive a decent offer for Soucek with think Moyes would definitely have a fair argument to sell him.

Whether the Scot will actually be willing to lose the 27-year-old’s aerial prowess from his team remains to be seen though.
