Hammers insiders Claret and Hugh have dismissed those reports, however.

Rice is West Ham’s most important player. He is irreplaceable and undoubtedly the first name on David Moyes’ team-sheet.

The prospect of losing Dec doesn’t bear thinking about.

The Hammers’ chances of achieving success over the next few years depend heavily on their ability to keep him in East London.

West Ham ace Declan Rice on Manchester United radar

ESPN claims that Man United could sign the 22-year-old for £80 million this summer.

Claret and Hugh reckon that any club that wants to sign Dec will have to pay at least £100 million in order to obtain his signature, however.

The Hammers insiders also suggest that Rice could still sign a new deal to keep him at the London Stadium.

The England international’s current contract expires in the summer of 2024. West Ham have the option of extending that deal by a further 12 months as well.

If Manchester United, or any other club for that matter, make an offer of £100 million or more for Rice in January or next summer, he will undoubtedly be sold.
