West Ham insider delivers emphatic PAI verdict as takeover talks intensify

PAI Capital have allegedly submitted a second bid for West Ham but insider Sean Whetstone of Claret and Hugh has moved quickly to pour cold water on talk of a potential takeover.

A spokesperson for PAI yesterday suggested that they are in the belief that their second bid will be successful.

Those of us who are GSBOUT will be happy at the prospect of new owners.

There is something about PAI that just isn’t quite right, however.

Sunday Times’ report yesterday about the three men involved in the bid for the Hammers was a real worry for the club’s fans.

West Ham insider dismisses PAI takeover talk

Talk of a PAI Capital bid for the Hammers first surfaced in July. They made an immediate mistake by getting Rio Ferdinand on board with the bid, however.

PAI seemed to save face by bringing Tony Cottee in on the action. But the jury is still very much out on the equity firm, however.

Well-known West Ham insider Sean Whetstone took to Twitter last night to pour cold water on talk of an imminent takeover at the London Stadium:

It is clear to see that the C&H writer is trying to discredit PAI by claiming that no proof of funds have been provided as yet.

If that is the case, then he’s actually spot on. How can PAI be taken seriously if they haven’t even proven the kind of funds that they have at their disposal.

Only time will tell as to whether PAI Capital have the financial firepower to buy West Ham.

Hammers insiders Claret and Hugh are clearly very dubious, however.
