West Ham United seem to be desperate to bring Jhon Duran from Aston Villa to the London Stadium this summer.
Jhon Duran has seemingly emerged as a key transfer target for West Ham in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers actually wanted to sign the 10-capped Colombia international back in 2023, before he joined Aston Villa.
Julen Lopetegui is now prioritising the signing of a new striker, with more quality competition and cover required for Michail Antonio.
In fact, Lopetegui needs to make a complete upgrade on the Jamaica international, and Villa ace Duran certainly would represent that.
The Spaniard has already made a couple of top-notch signings, but a new striker is needed if he’s to take us to the next level.

Whilst Duran is still relatively unproven, he is an absolute handful for opposing defenders, and I think he’d be a terrific addition to Lopetegui’s ranks.
However, he certainly won’t come cheap, as news of the Hammers’ latest bid comes to light…
West Ham include startling clause in blockbuster Jhon Duran bid
So the Hammers have stepped up their pursuit of the 20-year-old Villa hitman it seems.
The South American starlet has bagged eight goals in 49 games for Aston Villa, but it is his all-round game that will appeal most to Lopetegui.
The 6ft 1in striker is extremely strong in the air and possesses really impressive pace.
He runs the channels with aplomb and always works hard to create space for his teammates.
So how far are the Hammers willing to go to sign him? Fabrizio Romano has taken to his X account to provide an update on the current situation.
The Italian journalist claims West Ham have made huge offer for Duran – one that includes a really interesting clause:
Surely Villa have to accept that bid? Duran is just 20 after all, and is far from the finished article.
The 10% sell-on clause is surprising. If he does join us, and then moves on for big money in a few years, Villa will be entitled to a significant sum.
Considering the fact that we’ve offered the Villans £35 million for Duran, I’m surprised we’ve included a sell-on clause as well.
I think it would be a good deal for both clubs – Villa will receive a hefty fee and the Hammers will be getting a hugely talented young striker with massive potential.
Jhon Duran has the perfect profile to lead the line for West Ham next season. Can you just imagine him playing in between Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus and in front of Lucas Paqueta!
Wow is all I can say. Let’s hope that the Hammers manage to strike a deal with Villa for the 20-year-old.
