West Ham and Leeds both want to sign Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari this summer.

That’s according to ExWHUemployee and Centotrentuno.

We think the Hammers have a huge advantage over the Whites in the race to sign Nandez, however.

David Moyes can offer any potential summer signings Europa League football next season whilst Marcelo Bielsa cannot.

West Ham seem to be in a strong position to bring the Cagliari ace to the London Stadium.

And if Nandez ends up playing his football in East London rather than Elland Road next season, it will be a very big statement from the Hammers.

West Ham ahead of Leeds in Nahitan Nandez race?

Signing the tenacious South American would be a real coup for the Hammers.

And surely with European football on offer, Nandez would prefer to join us rather than Leeds?

Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking. Or perhaps it makes perfect sense.

And player moving to the Premier League from Serie A will surely take into consideration whether or not their prospective new club can offer European football.

Nandez would be a superb addition for West Ham so let’s hope he chooses us over Leeds, if Moyes does indeed make a concrete bid for the £22 million rated ace (Corriere dello Sport, Print edition, May 15th, page 19).

The 25-year-old averaged 1.8 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.3 dribbles and 1.5 clearances in 32 Serie A appearances this season. He made 30.9 passes per game on average during those outings and recorded a completion rate of 77.7% (Who Scored).

Soccer Souls describe the tenacious midfielder as ‘outstanding’.

The 25-year-old’s playing style is quintessentially South American. He seems to be absolutely tailor made for the Premier League.
