The 27-year-old Chelsea ace has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium over the past week or so (Calcio Mercato and The Telegraph).
With David Moyes thought to be been on bolstering his midfield ranks, links with Barkley seemed to make at least some sense.

Ross Barkley WILL NOT join West Ham
The Blues ace is not at all on the Hammers’ radar according to club insiders Claret and Hugh.
David Moyes is instead keen to sign Jesse Lingard as an attacking midfield option.
The Scot’s other priorities are to sign a top class striker and a centre-back this summer.

If West Ham do avoid a move for Barkley, we think it will be 100 per cent the right call.
The 27-year-old Chelsea midfielder is far too injury prone and he just hasn’t lived up to expectations over the past five years or so.

Moyes will be far better served in signing Lingard this summer. West Ham need two or three more signings as well of course.
But sometimes less is more. And that is certainly the case with Ross Barkley.
