A Bola claims that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is eyeing a move to bring Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl to Stamford Bridge this summer for around £26 million.

German publication Spielverlagerung described Weigl as a brilliant midfielder and named him as Borussia Dortmund’s most important player when he was with the Bundesliga side before joining Benfica,

If Chelsea do sign the German, they will surely not then make a move for Hammers ace Declan Rice.

The Blues have been linked with a move to bring the 22-year-old West Ham star back to Stamford Bridge for the best part of a year now (The Telegraph and The Evening Standard).

West Ham can breath as Chelsea line up alternate Rice target

A Bola claims that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is now keen to sign Julian Weigl from Benfica for around £26 million.

The 25-year-old is a defensive midfielder and plays much in the same style as Rice.

And if Chelsea do sign Weigl, it will obviously be great news for West Ham regarding our hopes of keeping hold of the 22-year-old…for this summer at least!

Dec does seem incredibly happy at the London Stadium to be fair. Added to that, he is clearly a very loyal and honest young man.

Keeping him at the club will be pivotal to our hopes of achieving success over the next few years.
