West Ham United are in last ditch talks to sign exciting Lille forward Jonathan Bamba.
That’s according to an update from West Ham insider ExWHUemployee this afternoon.
David Moyes looks unlikely to sign Jesse Lingard and it appears the Hammers are making good on speculation they might move for former France Under 21 star Bamba as an alternative.
Moyes was desperate to bring Lingard to West Ham on a permanent basis this summer after his sensational loan spell last season.
West Ham to make good on reports of interest in Lingard alternative Bamba?
But the 28-year-old appears set to remain at Manchester United.
West Ham have been linked with a move for electric 25-year-old Bamba, who plays in similar positions to Lingard.
Bamba has pace and trickery to burn. In fact in terms of skills this guy gives Said Benrahma a run for his money.
A recent report from Get French Football News quoting French journalist Fabrice Hawkins claimed the Hammers were one of three clubs interested in Bamba.

And now ExWHUemployee claims West Ham are in talks with Bamba’s agent about a deadline day move to the London Stadium.
“We are also in talks with a forward at the moment,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way Patreon site.
“Jonathan Bamba is a player I have covered extensively recently on the podcast and it appears discussions are going on with his agents as we speak.”
Electric Bamba gives Benrahma a run for his money in the skills department and has pace to burn
The former France youth international has been with Lille since 2018, and notably contributed to the club’s Ligue 1 title win last season under Christophe Galtier, beating PSG to the trophy by a single point.
West Ham fans will be incredibly excited if they take a look at Bamba’s highlights reel on YouTube.
But his stats are decent too with six goals and nine assists in 30 starts last season and an excellent average match rating of 7.07 (WhoScored).
It is becoming increasingly clear that Moyes may be leaning more towards signing a midfield playmaker/winger who he can mould into a forward or use as a second striker – like he did with Lingard last season.
