West Ham could very well have a secret weapon in the race to sign Junior Firpo from Barcelona this summer.

Sport claims that the East London outfit and Southampton are leading the race for the 24-year-old Barca left-back.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his left-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

And Firpo would be the absolute ideal addition for West Ham. Southampton chasing the 24-year-old former Real Betis ace will undoubtedly be an unwelcome inconvenience for the Hammers, however.

We believe that the east Londoners have a secret weapon, however.

West Ham have ace up their sleeve in Junior Firpo race

Pablo Fornals is a key man for David Moyes at the London Stadium. And he knows the 24-year-old left-back very well.

The Hammers ace and the Barcelona star are friends and enjoyed success with each other during Spain’s win at the under-21 Euros in 2019.

The fact that Pablo is already at West Ham will surely help convince Firpo to move to East London.

As long as he has the chance to play regularly of course.

Firpo has been described as an outstanding player who excels in 1v1’s, both from an attacking and a defensive perspective (Total Football Analysis).

He could be picked up for just £13 million this summer (Calcio Mercato).

Let’s hope that agent Fornals can work his magic!
