The Express and Foot Mercato have both claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to sign the Marseille centre-back in the summer.

West Ham desperately need to sign a top class centre-back.

Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson are 33 and 31 respectively. Fabian Balbuena looks likely to leave the London Stadium whilst the jury is still out on the inconsistent Issa Diop.

West Ham signing Duje Caleta-Car would be a big statement

The Marseille ace would be a truly exceptional addition for the Hammers.

And we could have a very good chance of signing him this summer.

La Provence claims that Marseille have transfer listed the 24-year-old. In addition to that, Caleta-Car could be available for just £17 million.

In 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille this season, the 24-year-old has scored two goals and registered one assist. In those outings, the Croatian has averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 4 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.5 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).

Well-renowned football analysis and scouting website IBWM recently described Caleta-Car as an ‘exceptional talent’.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Caleta-Car is an absolute monster in the air. He is exactly the kind of signing we should be making.

£17 million would be exceptional value for the Croatian. We think that West Ham need to get this one done and wrapped up asap.
