West Ham have an offer on the table for Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard but Newcastle are proving to be a huge problem.

That’s because the Hammers’ offer isn’t currently as good as the one tabled by the Magpies according to a report from 90 Min.

Lingard spent a wonderfully successful four months on loan at the London Stadium last season. He returned to Manchester United in the summer though, dreaming of featuring regularly for his boyhood team.

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, however, he got sold a lie and has barely played for Man United this season.

David Moyes would obviously love to bring Jesse back to the London Stadium in the summer. The Scot is a huge fan of Lingard and described him as an ‘incredible’ player last season (Claret and Hugh).

However, Newcastle look set to put a real spanner in the works for the Hammers…

Newcastle have better offer than West Ham on the table for Lingard

90 Min claims that the Hammers are at risk of being gazumped by the Toon in the race to sign Lingard on a free transfer from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Bringing the 33-capped England international back to East London for absolutely nothing, aside from his wages and signing on fee of course, would be great business for West Ham.

And Moyes should be doing everything in his power to convince Jesse to join us rather than move to St James’ Park at the end of the season.

Lingard was absolutely vital to the way in which we played devastatingly quickly counter-attacking football last season, what with his pace and directness.

West Ham have clearly missed the 29-year-old this season and re-signing him on a free will be an absolute no-brainer for Moyes and the Hammers board in the summer.

It appears as though Newcastle could be ready to offer Lingard much more money than West Ham though and perhaps even a longer deal.

Frustratingly, it is obvious to see that the Magpies and their new found wealth will cause us all sorts of issues in the transfer market in the foreseeable future.
