Vladimir Coufal acknowledged the fighting spirits of West Ham teammates Tomas Soucek and Craig Dawson when speaking to reporters yesterday.
Coufal has only recently returned to action after undergoing groin surgery a couple of months ago.
The 29-year-old played through pain during the first-half of the season – something that both Soucek and Dawson have done as well.
All three players are hard as nails. They embody everything that ‘the West Ham way’ is supposed to represent.
The two Czech stars and the Englishman are three of David Moyes’s most trusted lieutenants at the London Stadium.
Vladimir Coufal praises West Ham duo Dawson and Soucek
The Hammers right-back has slowly started to look like his old self in recent weeks.
The 29-year-old was brilliant against Lyon in the Europa League and it will be crucial for West Ham that he shows his best stuff between now and the end of the season.
And when speaking to The Daily Mail, Coufal responded when asked what it has been like for him, Dawson and Soucek to play through the pain barrier:
“That is the West Ham DNA. To never give up. We are fighters.”
There is a really special spirit amongst this group of West Ham players.
David Moyes deserves a lot of credit for transforming the Hammers from somewhat of a soft touch into a side that no other team will relish playing against.
Coufal, Soucek and Dawson are three players who the West Ham fans particularly love. And it’s no wonder why. They all leave absolutely everything on the pitch every single time they play.
It’s fair to criticise Vladimir Coufal when he plays poorly for West Ham. The same can be said for Tomas Soucek and Craig Dawson. Something you can never accuse any of them of, however, is a lack of commitment.
And we will always respect all three of them for their willingness, desire and passion.
