West Ham United could have just nine days to sign longstanding striker target Olivier Giroud.

That’s after it emerged the club rivalling West Ham in a move for the free agent – AC Milan – want a deal sorted before the start of the Euros on June 11th.
That piles the pressure on David Moyes if he does want Giroud as has been widely reported again of late (Football Italia and Eurosport).

But ideally the Hammers need two given Michail Antonio’s persistent injury problems.
Throw in the added fixtures Europa League group stage football brings and West Ham simply must beef up their options.
So the availability of an experienced forward like Giroud on a free transfer is said to be attracting Moyes.
But Milan are pushing to get Giroud signed and sealed before the Euros according to French journalist Saber Desfarges and Get French Football News.

“The Serie A side, who have already landed Mike Maignan from Lille, are seeking to close a deal with the Champions’ League winner before the Euros begins,” Saber Desfarges and Get French Football News report.
“Giroud will be a free agent next month and is fully expected to leave Chelsea.”
Moyes and West Ham could yet have an ace card over Milan, though.

Giroud made no secret that he moved to Chelsea after leaving Arsenal so that he could remain in the capital, where his family are settled.
Nothing has changed on that front according to recent reports so West Ham could take advantage to keep the 34-year-old in the Premier League.
Elsewhere West Ham are also reportedly trying to get a deal done for Czech Republic international midfielder Alex Kral and West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
A recent report from club insiders Claret and Hugh claimed Moyes – who is due to sign a new three-year deal this week – will have around £85m to spend this summer.
