West Ham United have made a big decision on the future of midfielder Conor Coventry ahead of the January transfer window it seems.
Conor Coventry has been with West Ham since he was a young boy, and it was recently suggested that the club wouldn’t renew his contract at the end of the season.
It’s no surprise – the 23-year-old has made just 10 appearances for the Hammers (Transfermarkt), and he has been involved with the first-team for five-and-a-half years now!
He hasn’t been given a single minute of action this season, and it’s clear to see that he isn’t even a fringe player at the club anymore.
David Moyes actually isn’t blessed with a plethora of central midfield options, so Coventry’s lack of action this term is a sad indictment of his current standing at the London Stadium.
And it seems as though the West Ham boss now wants rid of the midfielder before his contract expires in the summer…

According to Claret and Hugh, the 23-year-old will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Coventry leaving West Ham this winter will be the ideal outcome for all parties involved.
He’s quite clearly not good enough to play Premier League football, but I’m sure he will forge a decent career for himself with a team in the Championship.
The Republic of Ireland under-21 international should have been sold by the Hammers a long time ago as far as I’m concerned.
Conor Coventry is wasting his time at West Ham, and he’s serving absolutely no purpose by taking up a place in our squad right now.
Whether we will be able to get a fee for him in January remains to be seen though. I would suspect that it’s more likely he will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
