SS Lazio v Hellas Verona FC - Serie A

West Ham have held talks with agents about signing 26-year-old Argentina international

West Ham have held talks with intermediaries about a move to bring Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone to the London Stadium this summer.

That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claim that the Hammers have been paying very close attention to the 26-year-old Argentinian forward.

Signing a top-class centre-forward before the start of the new season will be one of David Moyes’s main priorities in the summer transfer window.

Giovanni Simeone has a lot of attributes that Moyes usually looks for in a forward.

So it would be no surprise if the Scot decided to bring the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to the London Stadium this summer…

West Ham have held talks about Simeone transfer

90 Min reckon that the Hammers have been keeping a close eye on Simeone’s situation after he made his move from Cagliari to Hellas Verona permanently this summer.

It is alleged that West Ham have held talks with intermediaries over a possible move to London Stadium for the five-capped Argentina international.

And we believe that the South American forward would be a very smart addition indeed for the Hammers.

Simeone bagged 17 goals and six assists in 36 Serie A games last term (Transfermarkt).

He is a very hard working forward and his playing style is quintessentially South American what with his work-rate, desire and tenacity.

The 26-year-old striker is perfectly suited to West Ham and the way in which David Moyes likes his team to play.

He is in the best condition he has ever been in according to Tutto Mercato Web. Simeone has been described as a deadly striker.

There is the obvious argument to be made that he is totally unproven in the Premier League. We will never know just how much he will suit English football until someone from the Premier League signs him though.

We’d be more than happy if West Ham make a swoop to bring the South American striker to the London Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the striker could be available for around £17.2 million this summer.

And if West Ham have held talks with agent and intermediaries about bringing Simeone to the London Stadium, we believe that this could be one that has some real legs this summer.
