West Ham might just have a great chance to sign Clermont striker Mohamed Bayo in January.
Hammers boss David Moyes wanted to bring the 23-year-old attacker to the London Stadium during the latter stages of the summer transfer window according to a report from Le 10 Sport.
West Ham failed to sign the rapid striker in the end. In fact, we failed to sign a striker full stop.
Perhaps the door could be open for us to go back in for the Clermont ace in January, however.
West Ham have good chance to sign Bayo in January
The 23-year-old has clearly been affected by the rumours regarding a potential transfer away from the Ligue 1 outfit.
Clermont confirmed that Bayo was left out of the squad for Saturday’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain due to ‘transfer stress’.
Now, whether that’s just a temporary thing or a more permanent issue remains to be seen.

Clermont wanted around £9 million for the Guinea international in the summer (Le 10 Sport).
Surely after the latest sequence of events, however, they may be prepared to accept less in order to offload him in January.

It will be interesting to see whether West Ham try their luck again with a bid for Bayo in January.
Even if his price-tag remains at around £9 million, he will be more than worth it for the Hammers.
