West Ham United are reportedly keen to sign talented Torino right-back Wilfried Singo in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition April 26th, page 18) who claim that the Hammers have watched the 21-year-old on several occasions this season.

West Ham manager David Moyes will be a very busy man in the transfer market this summer. The Scot needs to strengthen pretty much every department of his squad.

One area where we do seem fairly well covered, however, is the right-back department.

Having said that, with Ryan Fredericks due to be out of contract in the summer and Ben Johnson actually looking better at left-back, perhaps Moyes does need to sign a new right-back this summer.

And it appears as though the Hammers boss has his eye on one player in particular…

West Ham eyeing Wilfried Singo swoop

The 21-year-old Torino defender is on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

We believe that the Ivory Coast international would be a very exciting addition for West Ham in the summer.

He has been described as a ‘defensive sensation’ by Cult of Calcio.

Singo has bagged three goals and four assists in 32 Serie A games for Torino so far this season. During those appearances, the 21-year-old has averaged 1.6 tackles and 1.3 clearances per match (Who Scored).

The young right-back is a real talent. He is strong, has pace in abundance is is always up for a physical battle with opposing attackers.

Singo seems to be perfectly suited to the robust and ferociously paced nature of Premier League football. Standing at 6ft 3in tall, he is a proper unit as well.

Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that the 21-year-old is valued at around £25 million by Torino.

That sounds like good value to us but it remains to be seen whether David Moyes would be willing to spend such a large chunk of his transfer budget on strengthening a position where we are already fairly well stocked.
