Hammers boss David Moyes is thought to be on the look-out for a top class centre-back this summer.
The Scot needs to bring an established central defender to the London Stadium before the start of next season with Fabian Balbuena having left on a free transfer.
Duje Caleta-Car is a name to have been persistently linked with a move to West Ham since last summer.

In fact, the Hammers had a £25 million bid rejected for the Croatian international in October last year (The Sun).
West Ham could sign Caleta-Car-Car on the cheap
The Marseille defender could be sold for just £13 million this summer according to a report from The Athletic.
That seems like truly exceptional business to us.

Established, experienced, quality defender
In 33 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille last season, the 24-year-old scored two goals and registered one assist. In those outings, the Croatian averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3.9 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.5 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).
The Croatian is also very good with the ball at his feet. From an average of 57.4 passes per game last season in Ligue 1, Caleta-Car recorded an impressive completion rate of 86.1% (Who Scored).
