West Ham fans simply won’t believe staggering Nayef Aguerd rumour that’s just come to light

Nayef Aguerd and West Ham United were never a match made in heaven.

West Ham allowed Nayef Aguerd to join Real Sociedad on loan in the summer, and he has really impressed out in Spain.

In fact, reports in Spain have suggested that Aguerd’s value has increased beyond all belief due to his fine form with Sociedad.

So credit where credit’s due, the Hammers owners definitely made the right decision not including a purchase option or obligation into the deal.

David Sullivan certainly hasn’t got everything right throughout the years, but West Ham could now be set for a real windfall due to the way the Aguerd loan deal was structured.

The recently departed Tim Steidten allegedly told Sullivan that he made a big mistake letting Aguerd leave in the summer.

I strongly disagree. He was absolutely horrendous for us.

The good news is that the Hammers should be able to get a decent fee for Aguerd when the summer transfer window opens.

West Ham fans won’t believe latest Nayef Aguerd rumour

The Moroccan is currently performing incredibly well out in Spain with Sociedad.

I have watched him in action in La Liga on a few occasions, and I must admit, he has looked very good at times.

However, he’s not pulling the wool over my eyes.

The Spanish league is like night and day from the Premier League.

Whilst Aguerd may be well suited to the more pedestrian paced La Liga, he’s a terrible fit for the highest level of the English game.

He’s being linked with a move away from the London Stadium on a permanent basis in the summer, and I think the club should sell him without a moments hesitation.

Claret and Hugh claim that Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in signing Nayef Aguerd in the summer.

Quite incredible that two of the biggest clubs in world football want to sign a defender who wasn’t fit to lace Craig Dawson’s boots during his time in East London!

West Ham fans have short memories with Nayef Aguerd

Let’s have it right, Aguerd is nowhere near good enough, nor strong enough, to play Premier League football.

I cannot keep seeing shouts of the Moroccan being the perfect defender for Potter’s system at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old proved time and time again that he simply doesn’t have what it takes to succeed in English football.

His concentration levels were appalling and his positional awareness leaves a lot to be desired. In addition to those weaknesses, he was beaten repeatedly by simple balls over the top.

And let’s not forget just how easily Aguerd was continuously bullied by opposing centre-forwards when playing for the Hammers.

He may be a good footballer, and possesses impressive technical ability, but he will never be a success in England, end of story.

If Barcelona and Real Madrid really want Nayef Aguerd, then West Ham should sell him without a second though.
