Hammers fans just need to laugh this one off though.
The pure arrogance and ignorance of some of the top four clubs is truly astonishing.
Why on earth would we take an injury prone centre-back or a past it 32-year-old midfielder who struggles to keep up with the pace of the Premier League as some sport of part-exchange for out best player?

It really is laughable.
Lingard is another matter entirely of course. But we should be able to sign the 28-year-old as a standalone deal.
West Ham need to laugh off Manchester United’s Declan Rice plan
Declan Rice should be untouchable. Her is under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024. And the Hammers have an option of extending that deal by a further 12 months.
David Moyes should be doing everything in his power to keep the 22-year-old at West Ham.

He is indispensable to us. It could actually be argued that the 13-capped England international is priceless.
Rice makes us tick. His energy, stamina, determination and relentless drive gives us something that no other player can provide.
If West Ham are to make genuine progress, we need to keep hold of the 22-year-old at all costs.
And Manchester United offering us cast offs in exchange for Dec should be treated with nothing more than a chuckle.
West Ham are finally in a position of strength. And our owners really need to dig their heels in with Rice this summer.
