Hammers News have asked West Ham United fans how much they’d pay to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on a permanent basis this summer.

Now, clearly, West Ham United will almost certainly need to stay in the Premier League if they are to even be in a position to land Disasi on a permanent basis.

Still, there’s little doubt that Disasi has impressed at West Ham and there is now a real feeling among supporters here in east London that Nuno’s side will avoid relegation.

Finish this sentence: Axel Disasi is West Ham’s BEST DEFENDER since…

If they manage to do so, Disasi would no doubt have played a big part. The Frenchman has improved the defence, with the Hammers keeping clean sheets in two of three league games he’s played.

With that in mind, we asked our supporters across our TalkingPoints and Facebook platforms how impressed they’ve been, as well as how much money they’d pay to seal the deal on a permanent basis.

The defender’s loan deal isn’t believed to include an option or obligation to buy and Chelsea’s valuation of the defender remains to be seen.

The centre-back colossus we’ve been praying for! 🙏 🇫🇷

How highly do you rate Axel Disasi?

However, when asked about how much money they’d be willing to shell out in order to land the former Monaco star, the response on our Facebook page fell between the £30-£45million range.

“Needs a few more games to assess but right now looking like £30m+, wrote one fan.

Another said: “£32-35m. £125k a week if he continues as he is and we stay up.”

One added: “I reckon £30m he’d cost but I don’t think he’d wanna come to us permanently.”

“£45m,” was another suggestion.

On TalkingPoints – a free community to discuss the club to which over a thousand supporters have signed up for – some of our subscribers talked about how impressed they have been.

“Disasi is brilliant,” claimed one user. “We have to find a way to keep him.”

Another added: “We’ve been crying out for someone like him for a couple of years and Disasi has made an instant impact.”

Axel Disasi could become West Ham United’s most expensive defender in history

Max Kilman is the most expensive defender in West Ham history, having set the club back around £40million when he joined them from Wolves in the summer of 2024.

It would be fair to say that Kilman has struggled since that move, however.

If Chelsea are to sell Disasi, it’s difficult to see them asking for much less than that. He’s an international footballer and someone clearly capable of making an impact in the Premier League.

Disasi is happy at West Ham but it remains to be seen if their journey goes beyond the end of the season.
