West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours linking Issa Diop with a move to Newcastle this month.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe allegedly wants to bring the 24-year-old Hammers defender to St James’ Park before the transfer window slams shut according to a report from L’Equipe.

Diop has been in really poor form since filling in for the injured Kurt Zouma.

The former Toulouse man just seems to be nowhere near the level required to be a centre-back at the very highest level in the Premier League.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Newcastle need to bolster their defensive ranks, and on first glance, the Hammers should probably drive Diop up to Tyneside to get the deal over the line!

All jokes aside though, West Ham are really no in a position to sell Diop at the moment. We only have two fit centre-backs and Craig Dawson has been playing through pain over the last few weeks!

Signed for £25 million three-and-a-half years ago (The Express), the 24-year-old hit the ground running at the London Stadium.

He has never lived up to the early hype but the thing is, there is definitely a player in there somewhere.

David Moyes must see something in Diop otherwise he would have been shipped out of the London Stadium a long time ago.

That’s not to say that we won’t sell the centre-back but Newcastle will have to offer a lot more than the reported £10 million for Diop if they want to bring him to St James’ Park, that’s for sure.
