West Ham are eyeing up a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa in the January transfer window according to a report from Foot Mercato.

And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

West Ham boss David Moyes is clearly on the look-out for a new left-back.

Arthur Masuaku has been really poor since filling in for Aaron Cresswell. And with the 32-year-old’s return date still not set in stone, Moyes must strengthen the left-back position during the January transfer window.

Kurzawa is a name who has continually been linked with us over the past few years.

And Foot Mercato suggest that we are once again on the trail of the 29-year-old France international.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is a decent player. He has four league titles to his name from his time with the Ligue 1 giants.

Kurzawa is very injury prone, however, and his attitude has been called into question on numerous occasions. The entourage that follows him around have also been described as troublesome in the past (The Sun).

The Frenchman seems like the kind of player who is just more trouble than he’s worth.

Signing the 29-year-old in January would be a very risky move from Moyes.

Sure, he would be an upgrade on Masuaku. But if Moyes really wants to strengthen his West Ham squad, he needs to be setting the bar higher than the Frenchman.

Kurzawa is actually not the best defender in the world wither. He’s good going forward, however, with a Champions League hat-trick to his name back in 2017. Not many defenders can say that! The Hammers needs more than

The 29-year-old Frenchman isn’t a regular at the Parc des Princes.

And the fact that PSG are desperate to flog Kurzawa in January (Foot Mercato) says all you need to know about him really.

Moyes would be far better off trying to sign a younger, more physically robust left-back, preferably one who has experience of playing in the Premier League.
